Candidates will be notified of the precise time of their oral examination. We will make every effort to complete the process as fast as possible especially for out of town visitors.

Please do not forget to bring Photo ID, as it is absolutely required by the guidelines of the Greek Language Center.

The examinations will take place in Gainesville, at especially arranged rooms in the University of Florida.

The times for the oral examinations will be arranged closer to the date of the exams. Oral and written examination  will take place in the same day. So, you only need to come to Gainesville for one day.

Access Details:
If you are accessing Gainesville from i-75, leave the interstate at exit 76 Newberry. Continue straight towards the City Center along Newberry Road. At some point Newberry Road will become West University Avenue. You don't have to take any turns. It's, more or less, the same road all along. Continue on University Avenue until you see on your right hand side the unmissable Gators' seat, the Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. After you see the Stadium start looking for Buckman drive. Turn right into Buckman drive, and Dauer Hall will be about 100 meters to your right hand side. The secretary in Room 125 will direct you to the office of Dr Kapparis.

If you are accessing Gainesville from other directions  you will need to find University Avenue, and then look for Buckman drive. If you approach the University area from the East, Buckman Drive is the 3rd street after W13th street.  Turn left and Dauer Hall will be around 100 meters to your right hand side.

Alternatively candidates could consult the maps posted at the University's Visitor pages: http://www.ufl.edu/visitors.html

If you have special needs please let us know when you submit your application, so as to be able to make suitable arrangements in advance.

Please note that, according to the regulations of the Greek Language Center (KEG), photo ID proving who the candidate is will be required.

  • No books, dictionaries, copybooks or other papers will be allowed in the examination room.
  •  Candidates MUST use black or blue pen.
  • The use of correction fluid is not permitted.
IT IS STRONGLY SUGGESTED THAT CANDIDATES SPEND SOME TIME TO READ CAREFULLY THE GREEK LANGUAGE CENTER GUIDELINES, AS DEVIATION FROM THE RULES MAY RESULT IN REDUCTION OF GRADES OR EVEN COMPLETE FAILURE.

The oral examinations will last for 10 minutes at Levels A and B, 12-15 minutes at Level C, and 20 minutes at Level D. All oral examinations will be conducted by two people, one examiner and one assessor.

Please note that the University of Florida plays no role in the actual assessment of the papers, or the certification process. We only administer the examination. Within 24 hours after the completion of the testing process we must send the papers and the tapes to the Greek Language Center in Thessaloniki, and they will do the evaluation, and award the Certificates.
